Pre wedding photography with Laura and Adam at Elsham Hall in Lincolnshire

On Tuesday we met up with Laura and Adam who are getting married later this month at Elsham Hall. It is one of our favourite places to work, not just because of the fabulous gardens which provide ample opportunity for wedding photography, but because the team there are so efficient and so friendly, that it always makes our job that bit easier and much more enjoyable. Working with Laura and Adam was also a treat, since they are a relaxed, fun couple who are happy to work with us and try out a few new locations for their photography. The meeting we had to discuss their requirements for the big day was quick and easy since Caroline at Elsham had taken all of the hard work out of it for us, having provided a perfect schedule which allowed sufficient time for photographs – this only happens at Elsham Hall! On a typical wedding day, David and I usually have to go into turbo charge to get everything that we need to for our clients, because there is not really enough time for photographs! Its all part of the fun! To say that Laura and Adam were easy and relaxed in front of the camera is an understatement and I am very excited about working with them on their special day to capture some magical photographs that they can treasure for ever.

A church wedding with Tina and Simon

Yesterday we photographed the wedding of Tina and Simon at All Saints Church in Brantignham, and what a day it was! The weather threw just about everything it had at us, from rain and blustery winds right through to bright sunshine. Conditions were far from ideal, but that did not put a damper on the celebrations which had been expertly organised by our groom Simon. This happy couple finally tied the knot after the twenty five years together and a nineteen year engagement. When Simon and his bestman Darren arrived the heavens opened and we had to take shelter for a while inside the church to wait for the rains to ease. A brief respite gave us the chance to take some quick photographs before the rains came down once more. Guests hurried along the path and those without umbrellas took what shelter they could underneath coats, cardigans and hand bags! Our bride Tina arrived in style in a horse drawn carriage and luckily the rains eased so that she was able to make her way into the church safe and dry. After the service we all headed outside to find bright summer sunshine which was lovely for the couple and their guests but a little challenging for photography! We completed the main formal groups reasonably quickly so that everyone was able to head off for a celebratory drink at Wintringham Fields, were the couple held their reception. We had a lovely day with Tina and Simon, and their family and friends and were made very welcome by the lovely team at Wintringham Fields. We wish Tina and Simon every happiness in their future life together and look forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photographs with them very soon.

Pre shoot photography with Tina and Simon

Yesterday we met up with Tina and Simon who are getting married in Brantingham at the end of the month. It was a lovely sunny evening and we were able to sit outside to chat through the arrangements for their big day. Afterwards we headed up to the church for a quick photoshoot and I am happy to share some of the images we took. The shoot was very easy and they were relaxed in front of the camera, so we are very much looking forward to photographing their special day.

The Blessing of Lara and Matthias

On Saturday we had the absolute joy of photographing the wedding blessing of Lara and Matthias, and what an elegant affair it was. There was no doubt that the stunning choice of Beverley Minster and Burton Agnes Hall would give this occasion a sense of grandeur and dignity, but for David and I the real pleasure was in working with some of the most charming and courteous people we have ever met. Everyone treated us very well and we were looked after so beautifully, there were many moments when we had to remind ourselves that we were actually working, and not simply enjoying a fabulous occasion with friends! The happy couple were legally married earlier in the year, and recently held a celebration in Portugal. The blessing and celebrations were organised by the brides mum Susan, and what a fantastic job she did! We started the day at the Minster when we met up with the happy couple. We had not met them before and from the very first minute, we knew that we were going to be part of something very special and quite unique. Their love for each other was evident throughout the day, and they were such a delight to work with. After the service we took the usual formal family group photographs before everyone headed out to Burton Agnes Hall. Upon arrival, guests enjoyed a celebratory drink and were served with utterly delicious canapés supplied by Ragassan Caterers, whilst the Northlights String Quartet played in the summer sunshine. Once the bride had changed her beautiful sari, it was time for everyone to be seated for the meal. The opening prayers was offered by the Rt Reverend David James, and welcome speeches were given the brides father Joe, and the grooms father Hans. It was at this point that we took our leave and headed home to work on the photographs. To say we had a lovely day with Lara and Matthias is an understatement. It was a truly wonderful occasion and a privilege to be part of it. I wish them a long and happy life together and thank all of their family and friends for taking such good care of us. This is one wedding that we will hold in our hearts for a very long time.

Wedding Photography with Annabel and Scott

Yesterday we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Annabel and Scott who were married at Leven Church. We started the day with the bride and when we arrived Annabel was busy having the finishing touches done to her make up. There was lots of laughter and chatter as the girl got ready and before long it was time for Annabel to put on her stunning dress from Deborah Moore in Hessle. Needless to say she caused quite a stir when she defended the stairs to make her entrance. Whoops of excitement and joy at just how gorgeous she looked and dad gave her a big hug. We took some quick bridal portraits before heading out to meet Scott and his groomsmen. After a quick chat with the Reverend James we were able to take their photographs before Scott headed inside to await his bride. There was a small delay in proceedings as the bridesmaids taxi arrived a little later than anticipated, but the service was soon underway. The readings were delivered by mum Jean and Steve and the happy couple exited the church to excited guests who showered them with confetti. Unfortunately, due to the late start, we had to really motor through the photographs to make sure Annabel and Scott were delivered to the Millhouse in time for canapés, and the entertainment provided by Connie Ward Allen. After the recent heatwave, everyone was happy with the slightly cooler conditions and the downpour did nothing to dampen the spirits. Speeches took place before the meal and were delivered to much laughter and a variety of chants, with shots being downed at the request of the groom. Annabel dad gave a highly entertaining speech and lets just say that the bride definitely wasn’t spared her blushes! We had a great day with Annabel and Scott and wish them every happiness in their future life together.
