Emma & James Wedding at the Hallmark, North Ferriby

I am delighted to share with you the preview wedding photography for Emma and James who were married on Friday at the Hallmark Hotel, North Ferriby. It was an awful day weather wise, with heavy rain for most of the time. We started the day with the bride and her bridesmaids Grace, Becky, Emily, Libby and Rose and the girls were busy having the finishing touches done to hair and make up. Emma look lovely in her dress from Jacquelines of Beverley and the look was completed with flowers from Orange Blossom. We were able to do some quick portraits of Emma, her bridemaids and mum and Dave just before another rain shower started. When we arrived at the Hallmark, it was still raining but James and the groomsmen looked super smart in their suits from Len Beck and we took some of their photographs inside the venue. The rain eased and the boys braved the elements and we were able to grab some photographs outside.  We always look forward to the moment when the bride arrives so that we can capture that special moment before she heads down the aisle, but our priority on Friday was keeping Emma nice and dry! The couple had written their own vows to each other which added something special to the ceremony. Following the service guests enjoyed their celebratory drinks whilst we completed the traditional group photographs inside. Once again the rain eased a little and everyone headed outside to throw some confetti. We also managed to get some very quick portraits of the happy couple before they headed inside to enjoy their meal with family and friends. Emma and James are a really lovely couple and we had a great day with them and their family and friends. We wish them every happiness in their future life together.

Lincolnshire Wedding Photographer at Normanby Hall with Samantha and Kenny

We had a lovely day yesterday, doing the wedding photography for Samantha and Kenny, who were married at Holy Trinity Church in Barrow on Humber, and held their wedding reception at Normanby Hall. The day started bright and early with Samantha and her bridesmaids Karen, Linsey and Inessa and little flower girl Taylen.  Samantha was ready early for us which gave us some time to do her bridal portraits outside in the garden. The theme for the wedding was woodland fairies, and in keeping with this, the bride walked barefoot down the aisle to meet her groom Kenny, who looked very handsome in his army uniform. Samantha arrived at church in the car which originally belonged to her grandad, but was driven by Uncle Jason who also gave her away. The happy couple excited the church to the sound of the bells and following the group photographs, everyone headed off to Normanby Hall for a celebratory drink. Our portraits of the couple were done during a brief walk around the gorgeous gardens at Normanby Hall, and as always our time with them was brief and we had to return them to their family and friends. Samantha and Kenny are a lovely couple and we wish them every happiness in their life together and look forward to sharing their full collection of wedding photographs with them.

Pre wedding Photography for Michelle and Nigel

I am pleased to share the pre wedding photography for Michelle and Nigel who nare getting married in September at the Deep in Hull. We met up with them, on a blustery summers evening at a local pub, to go over the arrangements for the big day, and then headed outside for their pre wedding photoshoot. We braved the drizzle and the wind and Michelle and Nigel didn’t bat an eyelid at the conditions. Not only were they were great company, but they were very easy to work with. They responded really well to direction and were relaxed and easy with one another and in front of the camera. This made our job really easy. The challenges for a wedding photographer are usually the time, the available light and the weather, and this one at the Deep will be no exception. Photography at the Deep is a little tricky owing to the lack of light and the fact that flash is not allowed near the tanks, but as we are primarily natural light photographers, it won’t be too much of a change from our usual way of shooting. Our main challenge for Michelle and Nigel, will be the amount time available to do the photography, but as they as so easy to work with, I am sure that we will produce something lovely for them. Michelle and Nigel are one of the nicest couples we have had the pleasure of working with, and we had great fun with them on the pre shoot.  We are very much looking forward to being part of their special day.

Pre wedding photography with Louise & Mark at the Willerby Manor

I am please to share with you the images from the pre wedding photography shoot with Louise and Mark, who are getting married at the Willerby Manor in September. As always with our pre wedding meeting we started off by having a chat with the happy couple about their plans for the big day. This helps us to understand what has been planned and make sure that our photography fits in around the arrangements. After the chat, we headed outside to do a quick shoot with Louise and Mark. The pre wedding shoot is a really good way for a couple to get used to being in front of the camera before the big day, and helps for them to get rid of any nerves about being photographed. Louise and Mark are a great couple and we look forward to sharing their wedding day.

Clare & Liams preview wedding photography, Hessle, East Yorkshire

Here are the preview wedding photographs for Clare and Liam who were married yesterday at St Martins Church, Hull and held their marque reception at Hessle Rugby Club. It was a bright sunny day when we arrived at the brides parents house and were made very welcome by Janice and Les. The brides hair was done by Bows Hair and her make up by Beauty by Ellie Rose. Clare looked lovely in her dress by Elite Bridal and the picture was completed by her bouquet from Floral Lounge. The house was filled with laughter and excited chatter whilst bridesmaids, Clare, Helen, Eleanor, Becky and Beckie had their hair and make up done. Time slipped away and before we knew it, it was time to take a sort drive to the church to meet up with groom Liam, and his bestman Jamie and ushers Chris, Nathan and Phil. Guests began to arrive and everyone waited excitedly for the arrival of the bride. The camper van from Retro Campers was soon in sight and Clare was helped out by Dad and her bridemaids. The service was lovely and guests happily exited the church into the summer sunshine. After the formal group photographs, everyone  was transported to the reception in an open top bus, whilst the happy couple enjoyed their first few moments together as husband and wife in the camper van. The marque echoed the pastel theme and was decorated by Belle Bijou, and whilst the barbecue was being prepared, Clare and Liam enjoyed a celebratory drink outside in the sunshine with their family and friends! We headed off to do a few more photographs before the meal, and I took a bit of a risk to get the lead image for this blog, and ended up knee deep in the mud banks on the Humber. My trusty wellies sunk very nicely as I waded out, and at one point, I did wonder whether or not I would make it out again! Clare and Liam were such sports balancing carefully on the breakers and I heaved a sigh of relief when we all managed to get back to the car unscathed! By the time we returned, the food was ready and everyone headed into the marque. The atmosphere inside was wonderful and a good time was had by all. Speeches delivered by the brides father, the groom and best man all caused much laughter and almost as many tears, with the Toastmaster adding to the sense of fun, encouraging a variety of Mexican waves and one or two kisses! From start to finish this day was just one big bundle of joy and it was a real pleasure to be part of it. Clare and Liam are a fabulous, caring and fun loving couple and I hope that we have managed to capture just a little of their spirit and joie de vivre! We had great fun working with them, wish them every happiness in their future life together and look forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photographs with them soon.
