Yorkshire Wedding Photographer at Cave Castle with Chi & Gavin

We had a wonderful day on Saturday photographing the wedding of Chi and Gavin, at the fabulous Cave Castle Hotel. It was a lovely one for us to photograph, and we very much enjoyed the mix of English and Chinese tradition. Chi had two dresses and looked equally stunning in both. Her white daytime dress was made especially for her, and she wore the traditional red dress for the evening banquet.  Her sisters Ellen and Helen, looked lovely their pink and gold dresses from Chi Chi’s of London. The groom and his groomsmen Chris  and Adam, had chosen to buy rather than hire, and they looked great in their blue suits. Following the official ceremony, in line with Chinese custom, the couple knelt in front of the brides parents to serve tea, and show thanks and respect to them for their love and care. After the tea drinking the Chi and Gavin received their gifts from the family, in the traditional red and gold envelopes. During the tea ceremony the rest of the guests enjoyed a celebratory drink on the lawn in the sunshine. The family photographs followed and before long, it was time for everyone to head inside for the wedding breakfast. Guests were entertained during the meal by a magician who brought many gasps and lots of laughs. The couple chose cupcakes rather than a traditional wedding cake, and they were made by the bride’s sister, Ellen. Flower Creatives in Hedon provided the flowers. To celebrate the bride’s heritage, the happy couple chose to forgo the current trend for a first dance, in favour of a stunning Chinese Lion Dance which opened the evening reception. Chi and Gavin are a lovely couple and we are very much looking forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photography with them.

Yorkshire Wedding Photographer at Tickton Grange with Leanne & Rob

I am delighted to share with you the preview wedding photography for Leanne and Rob, who were married on Sunday, at Tickton Grange, near Beverley, East Yorkshire. It was a wonderful day, despite the weather!  One moment bright sunshine and the next torrential rain.  Our umbrellas were put to good use and provided another dimension to the photography, as did the Rose Walk at Tickton Grange, providing much needed shelter for the wedding guests during the heavy showers. The bride looked stunning in her dress from Bridal Oasis. The grooms suit was hired from Moss Bros and he was accompanied by sons Ben and Adam who were his best men. The Beverley Flower company’s arrangements complimented the bridesmaids rose pink dresses beautifully and the cake by Cakes Unlimited of North Newbald looked amazing in the reception room. The grooms daughter Abigail gave a lovely reading during the service and Ben and Adam delivered the wedding rings. As the happy couple exited the ceremony, the heavens opened and guests enjoyed their celebratory drinks inside. We dashed in and out, in between the showers to capture some photographs before everyone headed inside for the wedding breakfast. It was a real pleasure to photograph this wedding and we had a wonderful time with Leanne, Rob and their family and friends. We wish them both every happiness in their future life together!

Wedding Photography in Sproatley with Lucy & Rhun

I am delighted to share the preview wedding photography for Lucy & Rhun who were married yesterday in Sproatley. The bride looked stunning in her dress from  Bridal Boutique, Sutton and bridesmaid Katy, Ellie, Emma, Beth, Lucy and  Llivern all looked amazing in their pastel pink dresses from Coast. When we arrived at the house, the girls were busy getting ready. It was very much a family occasion, with the marque decorations being made by family and friends, flowers by Lucy’s friend Rachael, at the Daisy Chain and the lovely wedding cake was made by Rhun’s auntie Dena, who was busy putting on the finishing touches whilst we took some photographs inside the marque. After the brides house, we met up with the boys in the Blue Bell and took the short walk to the church to take some quick photographs before the guests began to arrive. The tiny church was packed, and the vicar John, made us, and everyone else, very welcome. A small crowd of well-wishers gathered outside to greet the bride, who arrived with mum and dad, in keeping with tradition; a few minutes late. Emma and Bedwyr gave the readings and the Welsh contingent filled the church with their beautiful voices during the hymns. The happy couple exited the church in the summer sunshine and were showered with rose petal confetti before climbing aboard the tractor and trailer, that was driven by the bride’s godfather John. Guests enjoyed celebratory pimms and prosecco outside on the lawn, before heading inside for the wedding breakfast. Speeches caused much laughter and the bride and groom were serenaded by their Welsh family, led enthusiastically by the groom’s mum Helen! Lucy and Rhun had an action packed, fun day with their guests, and our brief was to photograph the wedding in a documentary style so’s they could spend their time with family and friends!  We had a great time photographing their wedding and look forward to sharing the rest of their photographs with them soon!

Wedding Photography at Cave Castle Hotel with Jess & Phil

Yesterday we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Jess and Phil, who were married at All Saints Church, South Cave. We had a fantastic day with them and their family and friends. Jess looked amazing in her Maggie Sottero Dress from Deborah Moore in Hessle. Her make up was done by Hayley Young, who did a fantastic job, as always. Even after a long day in the summer sunshine, Jess’s make up looked just as fresh as it did at the beginning of the day. Phil and the groomsmen hired their suits from Slaters. The cake was by Leni, flowers by Floral Studio, Hessle, and their vintage car ensured that they travelled in style. Reverend Mike at All Saints was a real joy to work with, and made us feel totally welcome. Phil’s Dad Paul delivered the reading, and the happy couple exited the church, in sunshine to the traditional sound of the church bells. Group photographs in the warm sunshine followed before Jess and Phil headed inside for their wedding breakfast. There was not a dry eye in the house, during some very emotional speeches and the bestman Dave, gave a wonderful heartfelt version of Can You Feel the Love, complete with personalised lyrics, to the delight of the crowd and the couple. We had a really lovely day with Jess, Phil and their family and friends, and wish them every happiness in their future life together.

Wedding Photography for Natasha & Steven

I am pleased to share with you the preview wedding photography for Natasha and Steven who were married at St Mary’s church in Beverley, yesterday. We started the day at the brides grandparent’s house and were made very welcome by Beattie and Joe. The girls were busy getting ready and as always we took a few photographs of them as well as the all important little details. Natasha looked stunning in her dress from Samantha’s. It was rather special in lots of ways, but particularly because Natasha’s grandad Joe had bought it for her, having heard it was her favourite, but a little more than her budget allowed. After a few photographs of the bride, we headed out to see Steven and his groomsmen at the church. The weather held and before long the guests began to assemble, and we all waited excitedly for the arrival of the bride with dad, Mark. Our thanks to the Vicar Becky who was really very helpful and made our job so much easier. As the happy couple came down the aisle, the sun came out as they headed outside with family and friends to do the group photography. As always, the bells proved a bit of a challenge for us but we had a happy time working with the assembled group. Following a short journey, everyone enjoyed celebratory drinks at the Millhouse Restaurant in Skidby. The couple were greated by the band who came outside to play them out of the car, and into the the Millhouse ready for their reception. The Millhouse is such a lovely location, that we took the opportunity to do a few more photographs of the bride and groom and their attendants after the meal. Natasha and Steven are a great couple and we had a wonderful time photographing their special day. We are very much looking forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photography with them.
