Hull, East Yorkshire & Lincolnshire Wedding Photographer – BIPP Associate Panel

Last year, I was delighted to put together a set of wedding photographs that formed my qualifying submission to the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP). BIPP is an internationally recognised organisation with qualifications that offer a benchmark for excellence for professional photographers. Each qualification represents a level of expertise, skill and achievement in a given field. There are three levels of qualification each reflecting an increased level of experience and ability; Licentiate, Associate and Fellowship. I joined in 2014 as a provisional member with a requirement to submit a successful, qualifying portfolio within twelve months. The submission required a minimum of 25 images that had been taken at real weddings, with real fee paying clients. With the support of my mentor Kevin Wilson, the cooperation of my clients, and after a great deal of hard work, my panel was ready for submission early 2015. To my surprise and joy, I was awarded the Associate level! I share with you here, the images that achieved the Associate qualification in wedding photography. My thanks to the couples, throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, who choose me for their wedding photography as without them I would not have been able to put together this panel of wedding photography. I am now working towards achieving the Fellowship, one of the most coveted qualifications in wedding photography.

Hull Wedding Photographer at the Mercure Grange, Willerby, Hull with Diane & John

I am delighted to share with you our final wedding of 2015! Diane and John tied the knot at the Mercure Grange Hotel in Willerby. Timing was tight on this one, and with the ceremony due to take place at 3pm, we had made arrangements to do the couple portraits before the ceremony, as it would be dark afterwards. Diane and John were lucky with the weather as the sun shone and it was relatively mild for the time of year. The ceremony got underway a little late, due to what can only be described as a technical hitch, and the happy couple joined their guests for drinks and canapes afterwards. We had a  tight window within which to complete the group photographs and with lots of small children to round up, it was no mean feat! Guests were entertained during the meal by the Singers Bella and by this stage the party was well underway. We wish Diane and John every happiness together and look forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photographs with them.

York Wedding Photographer at the Parsonage, Escrick with Clare & Craig

I am delighted to share with you the preview wedding photography for Clare and Craig who were married yesterday at the Parsonage, Escrick near York. Despite the recent rain and wind, the weather was kind and we had a relatively mild, but more importantly, dry day, which meant that we were able to do some of the photographs outside. Clare looked gorgeous in her light gold dress from the Big Day, at Castleford and Craig looked super smart in his blue suit. We had a lovely morning with Clare and her mum Katy and everything ran to time which gave us a great opportunity to get some photographs of the bride before the ceremony. It was a really lovely day and family and friends gave the happy couple one of the biggest cheers we have ever heard, as they showered them with confetti. The festive decorations at the Parsonage provided a beautiful backdrop for the interior photographs once the sun had set. Clare and Craig are a really lovely couple and we had a fantastic day with them and their family and friends. We wish them all the very best in their future together.

Hull Wedding Photographer at Lazaat with Leigh & Marc

Congratulations to Leigh and Marc who were married yesterday at Lazaat Restaurant. We had a really lovely day with them and their family and friends despite the rain. Leigh looked stunning in her dress from Elite and her bridesmaids burgundy dresses looked beautiful against the golden autumn leaves on the trees. Marc and his groomsmen were kitted out by Greenwoods and looked super smart. We started the day at the brides parents house and were made very welcome by John and Michelle. Following the usual photographs of the bride and her attendants, we headed off to meet Marc at Lazaat. Despite the persistent drizzle, the boys braved the weather, and we managed to get some photographs before the ceremony. There were a few laughs during the service when Marc struggled to understand what the registrar was saying (she wasn’t from Hull!), and also a few tears from the little flower girl, Lydia, who was a little overwhelmed by the occasion. Guests enjoyed Bucks Fizz following the service, and were happy to dodge the rain showers to make sure we got the much needed photographs. Our bridal coat came in handy for Leigh, as she really felt the cold, but was wonderfully brave, posing outside for us. Just when we thought the rain had us beaten, having not had chance to throw the confetti, there was a brief respite, which allowed us to dash outside once again to get our shots!  Leigh and Marc are a really lovely couple and it was a real pleasure photographing  their wedding for them. We wish them every happiness in the future.

Joanne and Richards Wedding Photography – Elsham Hall, Lincolnshire

I am delighted to share with you the preview wedding photography for Joanne and Richard who were married at Elsham Hall. The day started out very wet with a forecast for rain all day, However, this didn’t put a dampener on anything, as it is the bride who sets the tone for the day, and Joanne was quite simply a ray of sunshine!  From the very beginning, Joanne was everything a bride should be; calm, graceful and happy and looked just stunning. We had a lovely relaxed morning with her and her mum and the bridesmaids and as everyone was ready early (a first I think!)so we were able to take our time with their photographs. We knew from this, that the rest of the day would be just perfect! Our arrival at Elsham was still a little overcast, but again our time with Richard and his groomsmen was relaxed and happy and I think the weather finally took the hint that it just was not going to be able to spoil this special day, because just as the happy couple exited the barn, the sun came out!  Guests enjoyed cocktails in the courtyard and we quickly got on with the group photos, following which we had our time with Joanne and Richard to do their portraits. We had such a perfect day with Joanne and Richard which was mainly due to their calm and easy manner but also due to the fact that they were so organised and everything ran to time. This meant that we were able to make the most of the photography opportunities that Elsham has to offer. Elaine and the team at Elsham were on top form as usual and the barn looked beautiful. Joanne and Richard are a really lovely couple, were an absolute delight to work, and we wish them every happiness in the future.
