Hull Wedding Photographer at The Millhouse Restaurant with Lucy & John

I am delighted to share with you the preview wedding photography for Lucy & John who were married yesterday, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Hessle, and held their wedding reception at the Millhouse Restaurant in Skidby. We started the day with the bride and her bridesmaid, Laura, Rebecca, Helen and Alex. The atmosphere was happy and relaxed and Lucy’s mum Carol, was busy making everyone, including us, feel right at home. Lucy looked beautifully elegant in her dress which was from the Bridal Oasis and Goole. We took some quick photographs of the bride in the garden before dashing off to meet the groom. We met up with John and his bestmen Matthew and Stephen at the church and had good fun taking their photographs. Time as always, was in short supply and before we knew it, guests soon began to arrive. Father Michael delivered a lovely service and following the ceremony the guests gathered in the garden whilst we did the groom photographs. These were delivered in record time and everyone was soon on their way to the Millhouse. Our thanks to the everyone in the bridal party, for coming with us on a short walk so that we could do something a little different with our photography. We took great care not to damage the crop, walking carefully in the tractor tracks. It was a little overcast but we were very thankful for a dry day. The room at the Millhouse looked wonderful and the happy couple were greeted with a round of applause from family and friends. We had a really lovely and relaxed day with Lucy and John, and their family and friends. We wish them a very happy married life together and look forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photography with them.

Hull Wedding Photographer at Rudstone Walk with Kerry & Dave

Congratulations to Kerry and Dave who were married on Friday at Rudstone Walk, East Yorkshire. This blog has taken me a little longer than it would do normally, which is surprising in one sense, since this was an intimate gathering of close family and friends. The reason it took me so long, is because there are so many lovely photographs to choose from. We started the day bright and early at Kerry’s mum and dads home. Debbie and Wim made us feel very welcome and the house was beautifully decorated in shades of cream and taupe, providing the perfect backdrop for photography. When we arrived, Kerry was having her hair done, but was soon being helped into her gorgeous Maggie Sottero dress, by her bridemaids Sammy and Iona. A quick car journey to Rudstone Walk, and we found the groom agreeing the final cues for the music, with Sandra and her team. It was very windy outside, but Dave, Sam and Ben laughed and joked with each other whilst we took their photographs. The early arrival of the bride with her father, gave us the perfect opportunity to grab some quick shots before she went inside for the ceremony. Guests enjoyed drinks outside in the Spring sunshine whilst we all sheltered in the courtyard area and completed the family and group photography. We had a really wonderful day and Kerry and Dave were just fantastic to work with. As always, there is never enough time to do everything you would like to do as a photographer, but Kerry, Dave, Sam, Ben, Iona and Sammy were kind enough to give us a bit more time once the meal was over. I am so pleased they did, because it gave David and I, time to create something a little bit different for this gorgeous couple. There are lots more lovely photographs to come and I am very much looking forward to sharing the rest of the collection with Kerry and Dave. Thank you guys – you were totally amazing!

Hull Wedding Photographer with Shell & Mark, at the Ashbourne Hotel, Lincolnshire

I am delighted to share with you the preview wedding photography for Shell and Mark who were married yesterday, at the Ashbourne Hotel, North Killingholme, Lincolnshire. We started the day bright and early with our usual bridal preparation photography. Kim Marrison did Shell’s hair and make up was done by Justine Buttner, and she looked amazing in her bespoke dress from Joanna Lee Couture in Brigg. The bridesmaids looked lovely in their periwinkle dresses that were complimented by the beautiful flowers from Fairytales of Grimsby. Mark and his groomsmen looked smart in their suits from Slaters and the venue was decorated by Fairytales and looked totally stunning. Mommas Little Bakehouse supplied the wedding cake and the the theme for the day was influenced by the couples love of walking. It was a really challenging day weather wise, and we experienced everything from rain and wind, to sunshine and hailstones. The group photographs were particularly difficult as we had to keep running inside to avoid the rain showers!  We had just got everyone in place for the big group shot, when the heavens opened once again and everyone dashed indoors! Shell and Mark are a great couple and were fantastic braving the elements to get their photographs. We had a wonderful day with them and their family and friends and I look forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photographs with them soon.

Hull Wedding Photographer with Helen & Robert in North Cliffe

I am delighted to share with you the preview wedding photography for Helen and Robert who were married yesterday at North Cliffe Church. We started the day at Helen’s parents home and were made very welcome by John and Tina. Helen’s hair and make up looked lovely and had been done by Topaz in Market Weighton.  Shortly after our arrival,  the bride was helped into her gorgeous dress from Brides of York, as always the buttons and the loops proved a little challenging, but mum Tina proved to be the expert, and Helen was soon ready for us to do our pre wedding bridal portraits. Robert was waiting for us at the church with best man Oli, and ushers Rich and Roddy,  and we quickly completed some shots of the boys. Guests soon began to arrive and finally we awaiting the bride with her father. The vicar delivered a really lovely service, some friendly advice for the couple,  and his own little piece of magic with some polo mints! Following the service the happy couple headed off for a drive in their VW camper van from the Yorkshire Wedding Car Company. Our brief for photography for this wedding was to keep things as free flowing and natural as possible and where possible to keep the shots candid rather than formal and posed. Helen and Robert chose not to have the formal groupings which free up them and their guests to just enjoy the day.  The marque was filled with music and guests chatted happily whilst enjoying celebratory drinks and sea side themed canapes. Speeches proceeded the meal to much applause and laughter and the guests were entertained by a magician.  Helen and Robert are a really lovely couple and were very relaxed and natural with one another, and this came through in their photographs together. We wish them every happiness and look forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photography with them.

Hull Wedding Photographer with Benna & Alex at Lazaat, East Yorkshire

I am delighted to share with you the preview wedding photography for our first wedding of 2016, and wow, what a way to start! Many congratulations to Benna & Alex who were married yesterday at Lazaat Hotel & Restaurant. We started the day bright and early, with Benna at her parents home and were made very welcome by Lynn and Mike. Kate Marshall was busy doing everyones make up and we managed to get some lovely shots whilst she worked. Benna was helped into her stunning dress from Bride & Co. in Hull, by mum (and a little bit of help from me!), and sister Holly was there to help with the finishing touch; the veil. The brides hair was done by  Gemma Harrod at Sweet Hair and Beauty, and the beautiful flowers were supplied by A Perfect Wedding. William and Phoebe watched excitedly as their mummy got ready and preparations came to a close.

We then headed off to meet up with Alex and his best men, Scott and Aaron, at Lazaat.  They all look super cool in their suits from Slaters and we quickly completed our photography, before Alex headed off to meet the registrar. Guests began to arrive, and we all waited excitedly for the arrival of the bride and her father. Traffic delayed her arrival, and all were beginning to get a little twitchy when the car, driven by Chauffeur Luxury, was spotted. The bride was whisked inside quickly, and the wedding itself was soon underway.

After the ceremony guests enjoyed drinks whilst the happy couple received their congratulations and best wishes. The venue was beautifully decorated by A Perfect Wedding with table decoration by Bellisima Design. The brides friend, Kara made their lovely cake.

Speeches were delivered in the traditional manner, after the meal, with the best men, Scott and Aaron, creating hysteria and embarrassment in equal measures, with their candid anecdotes. Such was the laughter, things had to stop for a few seconds whilst everyone giggled, the bride and groom held their heads in their hands, and great applause from the assembled guests resulted!

It was a really beautiful day, filled with much laughter and lots of love.

Benna and Alex are a really fantastic coupl,e and we had an amazing day photographing their beautiful wedding. We wish them every happiness and look forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photography with them soon.
