Lincolnshire Wedding Photographer at Normanby Hall with Samantha and Kenny

We had a lovely day yesterday, doing the wedding photography for Samantha and Kenny, who were married at Holy Trinity Church in Barrow on Humber, and held their wedding reception at Normanby Hall. The day started bright and early with Samantha and her bridesmaids Karen, Linsey and Inessa and little flower girl Taylen.  Samantha was ready early for us which gave us some time to do her bridal portraits outside in the garden. The theme for the wedding was woodland fairies, and in keeping with this, the bride walked barefoot down the aisle to meet her groom Kenny, who looked very handsome in his army uniform. Samantha arrived at church in the car which originally belonged to her grandad, but was driven by Uncle Jason who also gave her away. The happy couple excited the church to the sound of the bells and following the group photographs, everyone headed off to Normanby Hall for a celebratory drink. Our portraits of the couple were done during a brief walk around the gorgeous gardens at Normanby Hall, and as always our time with them was brief and we had to return them to their family and friends. Samantha and Kenny are a lovely couple and we wish them every happiness in their life together and look forward to sharing their full collection of wedding photographs with them.

Clare & Liams preview wedding photography, Hessle, East Yorkshire

Here are the preview wedding photographs for Clare and Liam who were married yesterday at St Martins Church, Hull and held their marque reception at Hessle Rugby Club. It was a bright sunny day when we arrived at the brides parents house and were made very welcome by Janice and Les. The brides hair was done by Bows Hair and her make up by Beauty by Ellie Rose. Clare looked lovely in her dress by Elite Bridal and the picture was completed by her bouquet from Floral Lounge. The house was filled with laughter and excited chatter whilst bridesmaids, Clare, Helen, Eleanor, Becky and Beckie had their hair and make up done. Time slipped away and before we knew it, it was time to take a sort drive to the church to meet up with groom Liam, and his bestman Jamie and ushers Chris, Nathan and Phil. Guests began to arrive and everyone waited excitedly for the arrival of the bride. The camper van from Retro Campers was soon in sight and Clare was helped out by Dad and her bridemaids. The service was lovely and guests happily exited the church into the summer sunshine. After the formal group photographs, everyone  was transported to the reception in an open top bus, whilst the happy couple enjoyed their first few moments together as husband and wife in the camper van. The marque echoed the pastel theme and was decorated by Belle Bijou, and whilst the barbecue was being prepared, Clare and Liam enjoyed a celebratory drink outside in the sunshine with their family and friends! We headed off to do a few more photographs before the meal, and I took a bit of a risk to get the lead image for this blog, and ended up knee deep in the mud banks on the Humber. My trusty wellies sunk very nicely as I waded out, and at one point, I did wonder whether or not I would make it out again! Clare and Liam were such sports balancing carefully on the breakers and I heaved a sigh of relief when we all managed to get back to the car unscathed! By the time we returned, the food was ready and everyone headed into the marque. The atmosphere inside was wonderful and a good time was had by all. Speeches delivered by the brides father, the groom and best man all caused much laughter and almost as many tears, with the Toastmaster adding to the sense of fun, encouraging a variety of Mexican waves and one or two kisses! From start to finish this day was just one big bundle of joy and it was a real pleasure to be part of it. Clare and Liam are a fabulous, caring and fun loving couple and I hope that we have managed to capture just a little of their spirit and joie de vivre! We had great fun working with them, wish them every happiness in their future life together and look forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photographs with them soon.

Elsham Hall wedding photography with Emily & Michael

I am delighted to share with you the preview wedding photography for Emily and Michael who were married yesterday at Elsham Hall. We had a wonderful day which started with the bride and her bridemaids Laura, Emma, Abbey and Katie. When we arrived the girls were almost ready and were having the finishing touches done to their hair and make up. Emily’s hair was done by Joanna Lamb and Charlotte Littleworth did her make up. Her dress was from Sugar and Spice and the look was completed with her lovely bouquet which was done by friend Sally. Following the bridal portraits, Emily had her photograph taken with mum and dad Emma and Tony and then  it was time for us to head off to meet the groom. Our portraits of the groom and his bestman Ash, and ushers Tom and Liam were done at Elsham before the bride arrived in style with All Occasion Cars. The beautiful claret theme was carried through into the barn with decorations by BV Decor and before long the all important ceremony was underway. The happy couple then enjoyed a privacy drive whilst guests enjoyed their drinks in the courtyard. The group photography was done in between showers and we had good fun with family and friends alike. Elsham Hall provides some gorgeous backdrops for wedding photography and we very much enjoyed our quick portrait session with the happy couple before the wedding reception. There was much laughter and a few tears during the speeches and a very entertaining delivery of ‘You’ve got a friend in me!” from best man Ash.   It was a strange day weather wise, being very humid with bouts of sunshine and showers, but ultimately it was mainly a little dull and overcast which meant we had to work a little bit harder to give Michael and Emily the kind of photography they deserve. We had a fantastic day with Emily, Michael and their guests. Dad Tony and Grandad Brian had us in hysterics with their tales of past weddings and the story of the trousers that were made to measure for the 6ft 5inch groom. The only trouble was the chap was 5ft 6inches! Emily and Michael are a lovely couple and we really enjoyed photographing their wedding. We are very much looking forward to sharing the full collection of photographs with them.

Wedding photography at the Mercure Grange with Hayley and Gareth

We had a wonderful day yesterday photographing the wedding of Hayley and Gareth at the Mercure Grange Hotel, in Willerby. We started the day at the brides parents house and were made very welcome by Ann and Kevin. The girls were busy getting ready and we got on with our shots of all of the carefully selected detail. Ann almost wore herself out before the day started, running up and down the stairs and making sure everyone had what they needed. Hayley looked stunning in her dress from Confetti and Lace in Leeds and her look was completed with the gorgeous flowers from Bo’Kay’s. Bridemaids, Clairm Natalie, Ellen, Lauren, Rachale, Mia, Ameira and Iyla looked so pretty in their dresses and the little ones had lots of fun pulling up grandmas plants in the garden and attacking grandads shed! We met up with Gareth, and his groomsmen at the hotel and quickly completed their portraits whilst guests began to arrive. The ceremony was soon underway and afterwards the happy couple enjoyed a celebratory drink with friends and family. We were a little pushed for time yesterday which meant that we had to crack on and get the formal group photographs done quickly. This was a bit of a challenge with the little flower girls who just wanted to play about and have fun! We had a lovely chat with Gareth’s Uncle John who had flown all the way from Australia the day before. After the meal Hayley and Gareth came outside and we had a quick twenty minutes within which to do their couple portraits. We had a great day working on this wedding and we wish Hayley and Gareth every happiness together in the future.

Joannah and Paul – Wedding at the Holiday Inn, Hull Marina

I am delighted to share with you the preview of Joannah and Paul’s wedding photography. The happy couple were married yesterday at the Holiday Inn on Hull Marina. We started the day with Joannah and her bridesmaids Rhiannan, Alex, Amelia and little flower girl Rosie. They were all busy getting ready and Joannah’s mum Margaret was soon helping Joannah into her bespoke dress made specially for her by Studio by Design. The gorgeous flowers from Floral Elements completed the picture and we were able to grab some quick photographs before heading off to the meet the groom. A special mention to little usher Sam who was a real joy to work with as were Amelia and Rosie! Guests soon began to arrive, and as always time flew and the ceremony was soon underway. During the ceremony, Amelia and Sam gave a lovely reading after which Joannah and Paul read out their own special vows to one another. After the nuptials were completed, guests enjoyed a celebratory drink whilst being entertained by a magician!  We had to dodge some rain showers whilst doing the group photography and following a quick photo session with the happy couple, the meal was served. Speeches were delivered in the traditional manner after the food, and we then concluded the remainder of the requested formal shots. After a short break, everyone gathered for the evening reception during which the cake was cut. The first dance followed this and soon guests were enjoying the party! We had a really lovely day with Joannah and Paul and their family and friends and wish them every happiness in their life together.
