Wedding Photography at Rowley Manor with Joanne and John

Here is our second wedding of the easter weekend at another of our favourite venues: Rowley Manor. Saturdays lovely couple were Joanne and John and we had a really great time working with them and their family and friends. This was an intimate gathering with a beautiful cream and hessian theme. The brides dress was from The Wedding Collection in Beverley and the grooms suit was from Slaters. Son Archie looked super cute in his little outfit, which perfectly complemented mum and dads. The lovely cake was made by Julie Flower from Sweetbakes and Cupcakes and the beautiful flowers were provided by The Baytree in Patrington. The weather was a little changeable with sun and shade in equal measure, but the biggest challenge for us all, was the blustery wind! It is always a pleasure to work with Amanda and the team at Rowley Manor as they are such a great bunch who really take care of their wedding guests. Joanne and John are a great couple and we very much enjoyed our day with them, and look forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photography with them soon!

Wedding Photography at Elsham Hall with Rita and Mark

I am delighted to share with you the preview wedding photography for Rita and Mark who were married yesterday at Elsham Hall. We started the day with Rita and her bridesmaids Leonie, Lyra and Sophia and the girls looked lovely in their mint green dresses from Twist and Wrap. Rita was ready early for us and after some quick bridal preparation portraits we headed off for Elsham Hall to meet up with the groom and his dad Mick. The boys looked super smart in their suits from Debenhams and they even had time do a quick interview with Radio Humberside who were on site for the Easter weekend. The barn was looked stunning with its decorations by B V Decor and guests soon began to arrive. The bride was walked down the aisle by dad who beamed with pride. Mark had a bit of trouble with the words during the ceremony giving Rita and the assembled congregation a good laugh! After the ceremony guests enjoyed a celebratory drink in the courtyard and we were able to do the big groups shot aboard the gorgeous carousel. We had fun in the garden with Rita and her bridesmaids and captured some lovely natural looking photographs. Time seemed to run away with us and before we all knew it, it was time for the happy couple to enjoy their wedding  breakfast. We had such a fabulous day with Rita and Mark. Rita radiated happiness and love and it was clearly returned in shedloads by Mark. We wish Rita and Mark lots of continued love and happiness in their future life together and look forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photography with them soon!

Joanne & John’s Pre Wedding Photography at Rowley Manor

I am pleased to share the pre wedding photography shoot for Joanne and John who are getting married in April at Rowley Manor. Little Weighton. It’s always a pleasure to be back at Rowley Manor and the team there always take good care of their guests. We all braved a cold evening for the shoot and are hoping for a bit more warmth on the big day. Joanne and John were great fun to work with and we are very much looking forward to photographing their big day!

Wedding Photography at Rise Hall with Rachel & David

I am pleased to share with your the preview wedding photography for Rachel and David who were married on Saturday at Rise Hall.

We arrived bright and early with preparations for the big event well underway. It is always nice when the couple are getting ready in the same location as it affords us a little of flexibility if things don’t go according to plan. The bridal preparations were running a little late, so we switched the schedule and completed the groomsmen portraits first. David, Phil and Ed looked really smart in their suits from Slaters and their buttonholes were provided by Floral Lounge. Soon after we went to see Rachel who was getting was getting ready with bridesmaids Wahyan, Wahmen, Saba and Sarah. The girls all looked beautiful  in their gold dresses, with Sarah the matron on honour in pastel grey.  Rachel looked totally stunning in her dress from Epenay Bridal Newcastle. We completed the bridal portraits in short sessions, so that Rachel was able to get the rest that she needed. This was lovely and offered us another photo opportunity, when the bridemaids joined her on the bed for a brief lay down before the big event. As always, the time just disappeared and dad John soon came to collect his daughter.

The bridesmaids were the height of elegance and sophistication as they completed their profession down the aisle ahead of the bride, whilst the string trio played. Rachel and her dad followed, and there were a few teary eyes as the bride met her groom.  Guests Tare and Marie delivered lovely readings before the happy couple exchanged their rings. Following the ceremony guests enjoyed a celebratory drink and canapés, and were entertained by a magician, whilst we headed outside with Rachel and David to complete the formal group photographs.

We had to work rather quickly as the light was fading fast, but managed to get everything done just in time. Guests did an amazing job of showering the happy couple with confetti, and were so enthusiastic with their celebratory cheer that we almost lost sight of the couple!

The reception room looked beautiful and was designed by Cherry Williams with the cake made by Popping Pickering completing the picture. The celebrations continued in the traditional manner with speeches, the cake cut and first dance.

We had an amazing day with Rachel, David and their guests. Our special thanks go to Rachel’s parents, Sharon and John, who were incredibly helpful and made us feel so welcome throughout the day. Rachel and David are a lovely couple and have had to face some major challenges in the last couple of years, and their commitment and love for each other has sustained them along the way. We wish them every happiness in their future life together and look forward to sharing the rest of their wedding photography  with them.

Wedding Photography at Cave Castle with Adam & Wade

It is difficult to know where to begin with this wedding photography blog as we had such a wonderful day with Adam and Wade. I suppose I must start by saying that they have stolen a little piece of our hearts, and judging by the atmosphere at the wedding, we are not the only ones. We started the day bright and early, and the scene was set for the day, as little William passed us on the stairs having his own little wedding strop, complaining to his dad Scott, that ‘everyone loves uncle Wade more than me!’. Scott and Wade’s room was crammed full of all things wedding when we arrived, and thanks to Wade’s mum Lyn for allowing us to use her room to capture a few detail shots, whilst the bridesmaids finished getting ready.

Adam and Wade had decided that as their wedding was not traditional, they wanted to get most of the photographs done before the ceremony. This was just as well, as the weather led us a right dance, with us running in and out, to avoid the rain showers more times than I care to mention!  At one point I was convinced I was doing the hokey cokey! We had such fun and everyone was in very good spirits and before we knew it, it was time for the all important ceremony.

The flower girls Katie and Amy led the procession, following by the ring bearers William and Jack, bridesmaids Becky (Adams sister), Zoe (Wades sister) and friends Holly and Zoe. Adam and Wade came down the aisle hand in hand and there were a few lips quivering and eyes watering, including mine!

There were no shy retiring wallflowers, as is normally the case, when guests were invited to take their photographs of the signing of the register, with family and friends crowding round to capture this very special moment. As the boys came back down the aisle the little flower girls could contain themselves no longer and rushed forward cheering to hug the happy couple!

The boys were piped outside by the sound of the bagpipes, and despite the autumnal chill, guests surged outside with celebratory drinks and hugs and kisses all round. We only had the big groups to capture, and my request for ‘all Adams family’ was met with laughter and a few renditions of the theme tune! Confetti, more drinks, silly faces and laughter followed and we had a brief few minutes to take some photos of Adam and Wade before they headed inside for their reception, just in time to avoid another downpour!

The room looked absolutely stunning with its autumnal theme. Leaves had been collected, and graded according to colour and hew, in the week before the wedding, by Adam and Wade, but the whole thing had been put together by the very talented Jill Fisher, who was also responsible for the amazing cake.

Adam’s best friend Holly said a few emotional words and Scott, Wades identical twin, almost brought the house down with his cheeky but heartfelt speech before the party got into full swing. First dance, cake cutting and Photo Booth madness  all added to the sense of celebration and afterwards, it being November the fifth, everyone grabbed coats and scarves, to head outside for the firework display. There was another wedding in the other room at Cave Castle, but as the couples photographer had gone home, Adam and Wade, were happy to pose alongside the couple for their firework photos.

Once back inside the Adam and Wade were treated to a surprise ‘modern ballet’ delivered by some rather large puppies, to the strains of ‘Who let the dogs out’ (you had to be there!). The party continued and the room was bursting with people and laughter – it was utter joy and we really didn’t want to leave!

A big thank you to Adam and Wade who trusted us to photograph our first gay wedding and for being such wonderful hosts. We had a totally wonderful day with you. It was an honour and a privilege to be part of your very special day. May happiness and joy follow you for the rest of your lives together! With all of our love…..  J & D xxx
