Laura & Paul’s Pre Wedding Photography, Elsham Hall, Lincolnshire

Here is the pre wedding photography for Laura and Paul who are getting married at the end of the month at one of our favourite venues for wedding photography; Elsham Hall. We have done lots of wedding photography at Elsham Hall, but we are always looking for a different location at this lovely venue to do some photographs, and yesterday was no exception. As a wedding photographer, I like to work with each couple on the pre shoot, to find out what sort of wedding photography they are hoping for and it is always fantastic to find a couple who are really up for creating something a little bit different and are willing to give the time to do just that! Laura and Paul were fantastic clients to work with, and were open to exploring the beautiful gardens at Elsham Hall and to trying out a few things with me! For me, no photography shoot at Elsham would be complete without a couple of images at storytellers cottage and so we start the blog there. We spent a little bit longer on this shoot as we were all enjoying the walk and the afternoon, finding endless opportunities for the photographs. It was impossible to include them all on this blog but I have included a small selection. Needless to say, we will not be able to cover them all on the wedding day as time is always at a premium, but none the less, I am very much looking forward to working with Laura and Paul on their special day. Katie and John’s Pre Wedding Photography, Hull

Today we managed to dodge the recent rain showers, to do the pre wedding photography shoot for Katie and John, who are getting married next month and will be having their wedding reception at Lazaat, just outside of Cottingham, near Hull. Lazaat were kind enough to allow us to do the shoot there and following the shoot we had a chat about the arrangements for the big day. Katie is having eight bridesmaids and three flower girls, so we are very much looking forward to what is sure to be a really beautiful occasion with lots of colour and glamour! Having your photograph taken can be a little daunting for most people, but Katie and John were very natural and relaxed in front of the camera and really easy to work with, making my job so easy. The main challenge when photographing a venue that you have worked at before, is finding a new angle and not falling into the trap of reproducing the same images that you have done before. Luckily for me, the inspiration comes along easily and the gardens at Lazaat change with the seasons, so there were some new places for us to try out for the photography.

Chris & Lesley’s Pre Wedding Photography, Barden Tower, Skipton, North Yorkshire

We had a lovely afternoon yesterday in the Yorkshire Dales, with Chris and Lesley who are getting married later this month, at the Priests House Restaurant, which nestles in the shadows of the ruins of Barden Tower. We always love a new venue for wedding photography and the Priests House provided us with a perfect backdrop, and lots of choice for photographs. It was clear to see that whatever the English weather may throw at us on the day, this is a perfect location for an intimate wedding, with superb views and unique surroundings. We were met with a very relaxed and warm welcome from Debbie, and Chris and Lesley were so easy to be with and up for a bit of a hike and a scramble in order to make the best of the location! As a wedding photographer, I am always looking to keep the photography creative and fresh, and it is exciting to be offered a dramatic backdrop to work with! Needless to say, we are very much looking forward to the big day!

Sarah & Richard’s Pre Wedding Photography – East Yorkshire

Last night we did our pre wedding photography shoot with Sarah and Richard who are getting married in June. We arrived at the Church in a downpour but undeterred, we dragged out the trusty wedding umbrellas and did a few quick shots in the rain! We took shelter from the weather and had a look around the lovely church before heading off to the couple’s home to chat through the arrangements for the big day. Sarah and Richard have opted for a marque and there will be lots of opportunity for some lovely photographs. Following our chat, the early evening sun came streaming through the window and we headed outside to make the most of the light. We had such a great evening with Sarah and Richard and it is lovely to work with a couple who know what they want but are happy to chat through the possibilities for their photographs. Sarah and Richard’s priority is for their guests to have a wonderful day, but owing to their consideration, careful planning and a willingness to work with us, I am certain they will have some beautiful wedding photographs! Rarely, do we all the elements come together at once for a wedding photographer, so often we are up against time and the elements and we have to make compromises owing to lack of light and the location, but this time I think fortune may be on our side! This is one lovely couple, with a lovely approach to their wedding and a gorgeous location! Exciting!

Louise & Mick’s Pre Wedding Photography – Healing Manor, Lincolnshire

I am pleased to share with you the pre wedding photography for Louise and Mick who are getting married in July at Healing Manor. This was our first trip to Healing Manor and we were very impressed by this beautiful wedding venue with its delightful grounds and lovely interior. Louise and Mick have opted for a small, intimate ceremony with close family and friends and it is sure to be an absolutely lovely day. Louise and Mick are a really lovely couple who were very relaxed in front of the camera and we had a very easy pre wedding shoot with them. So easy in fact, that by the end we felt as if we had known them for years! We are very much looking forward to their big day!
